John M. Clayton Elementary School, Lord Baltimore Elementary School, Phillip C. Showell Elementary School, Southern Delaware School of the Arts, and Selbyville Middle School received $7,000 in grants for educational arts programs, raised by the Bethany-Fenwick Area Chamber of Commerce’s Bethany Beach Boardwalk Arts Festival. Freeman Arts Pavilion’s Arts Access Initiative and the LEO club from Indian River High School were also included in the contributions. This year, students, parents, and teachers from beneficiary schools and organizations participated in the festival by volunteering their time.

The grants were presented at the Chamber’s Business After Hours Networking event hosted at Mio Fratello’s Loft on 54. Nearly $5,000 of the proceeds were raised at the Silent Auction during the Chamber’s Bethany Beach Boardwalk Arts Festival on September 9th which was sponsored by Jayne’s Reliable of Dagsboro.  $2,170 was raised from a new Wine Tasting event added to the Arts Festival to celebrate its 45th anniversary. The Wine Tasting, sponsored by Beach Liquors was held at Harvest Tide Steakhouse and featured tastings from a variety of 60 different wines.
