How has the HR department positively impacted the employees of the entire organization?
The Wesley College Human Resources staff strives to champion one of the college’s most valuable resources – its employees. We are dedicated to attracting, retaining, and supporting a qualified diverse workforce in order to meet the educational needs of our students. We do this by providing quality service to our internal and external campus community, and adhering to open, equitable and ethical personnel standards.
What have you done over the past year to make your employees’ lives better or your department operate more efficiently or do more with less?
As we have navigated through this year, we have had to learn to do more with less organizationally, not just in HR, and HR has been a leader in setting an example of cost cutting measures; always asking "do we really need this?" or "let's research further and see if we can find it cheaper." We work with departments to evaluate their people assets as attrition occurs to reclassify positions and combine them to provide the highest level of service yet maybe have the ability to offer a little more money. We work at "selling" our benefits to potential new hires. We continually strive to find more efficient ways to get "more done with less resources."
