G. Fedale Roofing & Siding is a multi-generational family owned contracting company catering to residential and commercial markets. We offer roofing and siding solutions for commercial and industrial buildings. We also have an exteriors department that does roofing, siding, windows, painting, doors, decks, and gutters as well as interior renovations covering kitchens, baths and painting.

What have been the biggest factors that contributed to your company’s growth?
We’re about 15 years old but in the last few years we have seen a lot more growth due to growing our services and growing our geographical location. 

What have been the biggest obstacles your company has faced over the past three years, and how did you overcome them?
We set the bar high so finding good talent that is aligned with our culture has been a challenge. We are trying to find new ways to recruit using social media and other outlets. New competition has also moved into our area; they’re called storm chasers because they go to areas that have been affected by bad storms and offer repair services. Our marketing team is trying to educate homeowners about these types of companies. 

What is the most valuable lesson you’ve learned over the past three years?
The need to have a long term vision and strategic plan to drive it. Being reactive and/or spontaneous can cause a series of poor decisions that seem sound at the time. Having a plan keeps you on course for smart, strategic growth.
