Looking back, what’s the biggest mistake you made and what would you do differently if you could?
Market research and financing are the two things I wish I had a stronger grasp of when I first started this business. Event services are complex to offer because everyone wants something unique and custom to their event, and they want it to be packaged into a turnkey solution. There are plenty of companies out there that can do this, but with extremely varying levels of quality and breadth of products. Looking back, I would have hyper focused on being the best at audio, financed what I needed to do it to excellence, and marketed it extensively to the people that recognized its value. This is precisely what we’ve grown into doing now.

What is the most valuable lesson you’ve learned over the past three years?
Key business decisions are 50% gut instinct and 50% data-backed, and you need both to make intelligent decisions. I used to rely entirely on gut instinct and got mixed results. By implementing a more consistent, accurate system of capturing data and evaluating it, I now have a much better chance of making a successful decision.
