Drama Kids of Wilmington offers drama education classes to schools and community centers throughout New Castle County. We believe wholeheartedly in building a child’s confidence through theater, creative movement and drama education.

What have been the biggest factors that contributed to your company’s growth over the past three years?
If I am being honest, it is because I had a great program. I believe in what we do. The owner has worked tirelessly to make sure that everyone is aware of what we do. We have a fantastic staff and a great core curriculum

What have been the biggest obstacles your company has faced over the past three years, and how did you overcome them?
We do not employ full-time people. All of our workers are only part time. This has lead to our biggest obstacle being maintaining part time staff.

Looking back, what’s the biggest mistake you made and what would you do differently if you could?
My biggest mistake was definitely hiring people when I knew they would not be a good fit in the long run. In the future, I would do more myself.

What is the most valuable lesson you’ve learned over the past three years?
I would say love what you do — do it with passion. That alone is the greatest advertisement you can give yourself and your company. I would also make sure you have a very separate work and home life. It’s very easy to meld the two when you are doing it all alone.
