We install, service, monitor electronic security and fire protection systems for both businesses and homes. We offer intrusion detection alarms, fire alarms, door access control systems, and video surveillance systems all with 24-hour monitoring, mobile connectivity, and cloud managed services.

What have been the biggest factors that contributed to your company’s growth over the past three years?
The technology wave in home security was a huge factor. We can now provide them with an app where they can see what is going on in their home and what’s going on at their business. In addition, many local security company owners are looking to retire so we have been able to do a lot of mergers and acquisitions in the region.

What have been the biggest obstacles your company has faced over the past three years, and how did you overcome them?
The biggest obstacle is the constant wave of new technology products coming on the market. When they come out, we are trying to keep up with it. 

Looking back, what’s the biggest mistake you made and what would you do differently if you could?
Going back many years, we built a 24-hour monitoring center here in Wilmington. We thought we could monitor our own alarm systems so we built the monitoring station, hired all the people, and purchased the necessary equipment. We realized we weren’t that good at it. We are really good at servicing our customers, installing and selling the systems.
