Family Owned Business Awards

Mobile Cloud Video Game Party, LLC

Mobile Cloud Video Game Party is a family- and veteran-owned business that was started due the lack of activities for preteens and teenagers (a category that includes our two sons) and expanded to customers of all ages. We operate a “Ultimate Video Game Truck,” a luxury, limo-style rolling video-game theater on wheels, with seven widescreen high-definition TVs, surround sound and the ability for 20 people to play at the same time inside the truck, and eight more outside on two huge exterior screens. Services include birthday parties, graduation parties, bar/bat mitzvahs, wedding receptions, school events and senior Wii bowling tournaments.

Our business model is built on the belief that everyone plays video games on the newest systems or on apps on their mobile devices while they wait to pay a bill, see a doctor,
or just stand in line.

We run the business as we run our household, with every decision being run through our vice president before being placed on the agenda for our weekly meetings. Our two sons have been educated on how the business operates and if they have an idea to help the business, they have to bring it to the table of our weekly meeting for a vote. But before that, they must research the pros and cons of the idea and how it would be implemented.

Each family member is taught each other’s responsibilities so nothing slows down if someone takes ill or is not available due to school commitments or other work activities.

Will our sons join the business? We are grooming them to take the reins but first they have to complete college. But in the meantime, they’re being asked to learn the industry so they can understand how the industry is changing. For example, we’re talking about 8K televisions on the shelves of every electronics store and how that might impact our business.

Fun fact:
Our two sons came up with the idea of bringing all of the video game consoles into one location.
