As one of Delaware’s high-demand medical professionals, Dr. Lindsay Albanese has made it her mission to offer accessible and technology-driven services to members of the community in need of reliable health care.
The award-winning physician, who serves as the chief medical officer and co-owner of Atracare in southern Delaware, began her career as an emergency room doctor with Sussex Emergency Associates, where she still works. She is focused on creating new conversations about health and wellness, particularly in an effort to destigmatize topics, particularly mental health and women’s health.
Albanese works to remind her staff and colleagues of the importance of a mindfulness approach to healthcare and identifying a sense of balance, community and external support to remain engaged and focused. She is also known as an upbeat practitioner who provides compassionate care and concern to all patients.
Since launching Atracare alongside her husband, William, in 2020, Albanese and her team supported vaccination clinics statewide and offered over 20,000 vaccines during the COVID-19 pandemic. Atracare now serves more than 70,000 patients through two urgent care facilities and by offering pediatric, primary care, lactation and mental health services. Albanese also offers hands-on training, particularly related to urgent care services and women’s advocacy in the field.
Albanese received her doctorate of medicine from the University of Maryland and spent four years in residence at the University of Pennsylvania. Outside of the clinic, she is a mother of two children and two golden retrievers.
