Workplace: GFP Cement Contractors LLC

Age: 27

From small projects costing just a few thousands dollars to multi-million-dollar contracts, GFP Cement Contractors LLC Foreman Timothy Holland has an opportunity to make an impact on a wide variety of construction projects along the East Coast valued between $2,500 to $3 million. Starting as a “Shop Dog” at the age of 22, Holland dove right into his duties, from inventory management to equipment maintenance and deliveries. His passion for the construction industry was ignited, and despite setbacks, has found mentors in the industry like Dominic Papa and Kurtis Sternes who have helped propel him toward a successful career before he even has hit the age of 30.

Holland has also balanced family duties while pursuing his career and mastering carpentry. He’s been involved in projects like a 46,000-square foot medical rehabilitation center and a project at Mt. Cuba in northern Delaware. He has worked for GFP since 2019, starting first as a shop assistant, then as a laborer and now as foreman overseeing crews that handle all things concrete construction in commercial, industrial and multi-residential sectors. Holland says he finds immense fulfillment in building structures that endure beyond his lifetime, leaving a lasting legacy, with a dedication to continuous improvement and an ability to overcome challenges.

He often prioritizes the opportunity to give back. The father of three also volunteers at his childrens’ school and has participated in efforts to raise funds for a variety of causes from cancer and autism research to supporting local first responders. In his free time, he cherishes hunting and fishing as well working with purebred beagles which he trains for rabbit hunting. In October, he will head to a worldwide event after winning the beagle club’s world qualifier in Maryland earlier this year.
