Ted Lauzen says he’s “all in” on the First State. That’s saying something considering he’s been around the world.
Earlier in his career, Lauzen flew a combat helicopter in Afghanistan in 127 missions. When he returned home, he was on Team USA for Modern Pentathlon, a one-day competition of fencing, swimming, horseback riding, shooting and running. Eventually, he represented the country at world competitions in Germany, Italy and more. He was also chosen as an Olympic Training partner for the 2016 games in Rio de Janeiro.
After settling down in Delaware, Lauzen received his law degree from the University of Pennsylvania Law School and an MBA from the Wharton School. His next step was launching Grey Fox Wealth Advisors with his business partner right before the COVID-19 pandemic. But Lauzen and his partner railed, and now serve 200 families throughout the state and managed more than $300 million in assets.
Over the years, Lauzen has served on various boards, including the YMCA of Delaware and the Grand Opera House. As a member of the 2019 Leadership Delaware Class, he has also worked with other fellows to launch workforce development program Intern Delaware and Grey Fox Capital, which invests in local startup companies.
When he’s not enjoying the adventure of life with his wife and four children, Lauzen is looking forward to coaching youth lacrosse and track and mentoring students at the University of Delaware’s BLUE Program and Horn Entrepreneurship.
