Since Stephanie Raible graduated from University of Delaware in 2005, she’s held leadership positions in European universities and Boston and Philadelphia – only to later teach in at least four other colleges before returning to her alma mater.
Now serving as the assistant professor and faculty director of social innovation and entrepreneurship at UD, she realizes that Delaware has become the stage for the favorite part of her career so far. She teaches entrepreneurship to at least 200 students per year. UD’s program headcount has grown by more than 250% in the past four years.
As a teacher, Raible sees her position as a unique way to bridge business with social and environmental areas. She has also led partnerships – like a collaboration with UD’s disability studies area helped establish a joint study abroad program in Thailand.
In 2021, Raible’s work in UD’s Social Entrepreneurship Initiative became a national finalist for the U.S. Association for Small Business and Entrepreneurship’s model emerging entrepreneurship program.
Along the way, Raible has become an educational business case writer, and within her first year of writing she won a national award in 2020 and a fellowship in 2021. She has since authored and collaborated on four cases.
