Title: Deputy Communications Director
Workplace: Delaware Senate Majority Caucus
Age: 29
When it came to honing her skills as a communications professional and nonprofit leader with political savvy, Sarah Fulton credits her time spent working and studying in the First State.
Over the past decade, the University of Delaware Biden School of Public Policy graduate has helped run multiple political campaigns and served as the political and communications director for the Delaware Democratic Party. As the current deputy communications director of outreach and engagement for the Senate Majority Caucus, she writes press releases and talking points, manages social media platforms and implements communications strategies for the state’s 15 Democratic senators.
The Wilmington resident also recently revived the board of the nonprofit NERDiT Cares, the philanthropic arm of the NERDiT NOW tech company, where she has served as president since 2021. Through her nonprofit role, she has played an integral role in launching apprentice and pre-apprentice programs, recruiting board members and securing nearly half a million dollars in grant funding.
In addition to her political and nonprofit roles, Fulton also is a court-appointed special advocate who works with foster children. She has also helped increase donations to the Do More 24 Delaware fundraising campaign and has worked closely with other organizations such as Planned Parenthood, First State Abortion Fund, and the ACLU of Delaware’s Kandler Awards Dinner.
In 2020, she was recognized with the “She’s On Her Way” award from the Delaware Office of Women’s Advancement and Advocacy, a precursor to the Delaware Women’s Hall of Fame Award.
