Workplace: NERDiT NOW

Age: 37

Guided by rigorous analysis and grounded in reality, Roger Chaufournier not only safeguards NERDiT NOW’s financial health, but also serves as a mentor to colleagues in search of life and business skills.

Chaufournier is the chief financial officer of the Wilmington-based technological device and repair company, which has provided him with “the ability to build and create a business focused on social impact.” During the pandemic, NERDiT donated 10,000 computers to underserved communities in Delaware, and every year, the company trains 100 people in the tech space.

By capitalizing on his experience in finances and real estate, the Wilmington University MBA graduate also helped structure and close deals that will move the NERDiT’s nonprofit arm to a building off Market Street in Wilmington and its recycling operations to a 50,000-square-foot facility next to the Kingswood Community Center.

Outside of his efforts at NERDiT, Chaufournier, alongside the New Castle County Hero Help initiative, helped create a support group called “People Empowering People” for families of those impacted by the opioid crisis. He also volunteers as the CFO for Love, which distributes food to those in need. His free time is spent with his wife, Kristin, and he hopes to one day author a book combining his interests in psychology and philosophy.
