Workplace: JPMorgan Chase
Age: 37
From his office window at JP Morgan Chase in Wilmington, Senior Marketing Delivery Associate Muhammad Dillard Jr. can easily see the same neighborhood where he grew up.
That reminder of how far he’s come since living in that underserved community fuels his passion to help others achieve their personal, professional, financial or health goals. That’s why the savvy businessman and father of four makes sure to set aside time to give back through JPMC’s Black Organization for Leadership Development Mid-Atlantic, where he serves as co-chair providing programming for over 2,000 members, and other local efforts.
Dillard wants to be a resource to make things easier for his family, friends, customers, employees, and members of his community.
In addition to his role at JP Morgan Chase, where he is responsible for key communications and tasks related to the company’s marketing growth and innovation, Dillard also volunteers at the Delaware Food Bank and the Junior Achievement Finance Park and does speaking events for the nonprofit Year Up Wilmington. He and his family also regularly donate to the Delaware Art Museum and he has volunteered for other local groups such as Delaware Special Olympics and participated in walks/runs for Beau Biden Foundation for the Protection of Children.
In his previous role at Discover Bank, Dillard secured prestigious industry achievements, including helping the company earn its third consecutive JD Power Award in 2016. While at both Discover and Citibank, Dillard won talent shows for creating rap songs describing day-to-day work activities, a creative endeavor that was actually used in some training classes.
