After being named Delaware’s top dentist by Delaware Today for the last six years in a row, it’s no surprise that Family Dental Associates owner and solo practitioner Heather Boyle is also being recognized for her reputation as a local business leader.

But Boyle didn’t graduate from the University of Pennsylvania with that business know-how. It also wasn’t easy launching her own private practice in the midst of a pandemic, but she was able to navigate the challenging world of PPE and business loans while also working to keep some of her most acute patients out of hospitals and overrun emergency rooms.

The Caesar Rodney High School graduate has dreamed of becoming a dentist since she was 10 years old, and received her doctorate in dental medicine from the University of Pennsylvania in 2011. She completed her residency at Christiana Care and Wilmington Hospital.

Boyle truly enjoys the work that she does, and she loves to see her patients smile.

The native Delawarean is also an active member of several professional organizations, including the American Dental Association. Boyle has donated her professional services to help treat veterans and has also provided financial support to the Delmarva Raptors youth hockey organizations and sponsored other charitable causes such as the Special Olympics, Give Kids a Smile and more.

Boyle has been married to her high school sweetheart for 15 years and together they have two young children.
