Managing corporate communications at one of Delaware’s largest insurance providers isn’t just about messaging. It’s also about community and corporate giving for Denee Crumrine, Highmark Delaware’s corporate communications manager.
Following her faith-based calling to serve others, Crumrine strives to lead by example and give back to the community, which she has done through her 12-year relationship with Exceptional Care for Children as well as serving as a founding member of the Junior Achievement of Delaware’s Young Professionals Board and of the Spur Impact MillSummit. She is also an advisory board member of Public Allies Delaware and KIDS COUNT in Delaware.
At work, she not only advances the Highmark Delaware mission through internal and external communications, but also oversees community giving from sponsorships and charitable projects to employee volunteer opportunities and workforce and business development, including management of Highmark’s “BluePrints for the Community,” a grant fund that contributed over $6.8 million across the First State in 2021.
The University of Delaware graduate formerly served as the manager of communications for the Delaware State Chamber of Commerce, overseeing an award-winning publication and website and managing events and special projects while growing the organization’s social media presence. Crumrine also is an active member of the Public Relations Society of America and a board member of PRSA’s Delaware chapter.
In her free time, she enjoys live music, traveling, archery and Harry Potter as well as continuing her devoted decade-plus mentorship of a teenager with special needs.
