DBT40 Honoree: Chase Marvil
Title: Marketing Director
Workplace: Bay to Beach Builders
On top of being the full-time marketing director for Bay to Beach Builders, Chase Marvil is a small business owner, organization founder and volunteer in his southern Delaware community.
At his job, Marvil created a strong presence for his company – both online and in the community – by engaging in social media marketing, billboard and print advertisement design and public relations. Prior to his current position, his work ethic earned him Best Marketing Student recognition at Delaware Tech in 2018.
Marvil guided Bay to Beach Builders toward digital and virtual forms of marketing that were sparked by the COVID-19 pandemic. He revamped the company’s marketing of products and services that still resulted in the same messaging and engagement without requiring physical interactions with customers.
Meanwhile, his community and philanthropic contributions extend back to high school. In 2015 he created “The Inspiring Wall,” a 35-foot mural that allowed fellow students and staff to share their inspirations. Other schools have since adopted Marvil’s idea for their own students.
Prior to The Inspiring Wall, Marvil founded The Inspiring Project in 2013. His organization’s goal is to make folks smile and eliminate bullying and suicidal thoughts in people. The Inspiring Project has since blossomed into a global movement, impacting more than half a million people, from Haiti to Switzerland. In 2015, he was featured on MTV’s social media channels for his organization.
Marvil continues to promote positivity in his own community. He’s hosted numerous “Impact Nights” at the local library for kids to engage in fun activities, and he serves on the board of directors for the 4 Troy Foundation, which spreads awareness of renal medullary carcinoma and mentors youth.
