Position: New Business Representative

Employer: Agilent Technologies

Age: 25

As a first-generation American and one of few women in a male-dominated industry, Gloria Ruci hopes to empower young women to pursue high-profile careers in STEM fields.

Searching for the American dream, Ruci’s parents immigrated to the United States from Albania a year before she was born. By the time Ruci was 12 years old, she was working at her family’s pizzeria where she communicated food orders between her father and customers during busy times of the day.

Today, Ruci works as a new business representative for IntelliSource on behalf of Agilent Technologies, where she implements new initiatives and products for Agilent’s laboratory solutions and services division. As medical researchers search for a vaccine for coronavirus, Ruci has worked with accounts such as Pfizer, DuPont, AstraZeneca and GlaxoSmithKline.

Ruci facilitated and managed more than 300 domestic and international laboratory relocation projects in Fiscal Year 2019. In Fiscal Year 2020, she worked with upper management to revamp an outdated business model, resulting in a 218% increase in year-over-year growth. She is also projected to surpass last year’s revenue growth for new business development and lost business recovery.

After earning her bachelor’s degree in biochemistry from the University of Delaware, Ruci is pursuing a Master of Business Administration at Wilmington University, where she plans to major in corporate finance.

Ruci publishes a weekly, internal newsletter for her company called “The Intellisource (Unofficial) Daily News,” which features upcoming events, sales incentive contests, and articles written by colleagues about the team’s performance.

Ruci is also an active member of the Delaware Republican Party and has assisted with campaign outreach and community efforts for state and federal races.

Although Ruci is a sushi connoisseur, her favorite item on the menu at her parents’ restaurant is the buffalo chicken wings.
