As the home to more than half of Fortune 500 companies, having well-versed corporate law experts is key. Sarah Delia, a partner at McCarter & English LLP, is one among a select group of female litigators who regularly appear in the highly specialized Delaware Court of Chancery.

Delia, who also has significant experience working courtrooms at the Delaware Superior Court and District of Delaware levels, has honed legal skills that encompass all stages of litigation from arguing motions to preparing corporate directors and executives for depositions and testimony to managing settlements in commercial and corporate cases.

When she’s not working high-profile, high-stakes cases, she also offers her legal expertise pro bono through the Pennsylvania Innocence Project. That includes representing a young mother currently fighting to gain full custody of her toddler.

The long-distance runner also sits on the board of the Lancaster, Pa.-based F and M Track Club, which she incorporated as a nonprofit two years ago. Delia ran during her college years, and in 2017 qualified to run in the sub-elite field at the New York City Marathon.

She also rode horses competitively as a teenager, and because of time spent training, actually never received her high school diploma or GED. Instead, she completed high school through independent study and standardized testing while working full-time for her coach and competing across the country. The first thing she did after taking the bar examination was hike Mount Kilimanjaro.
