Sara Gelsinger, a partner at powerhouse law firm Morris, Nichols, Arsht & Tunnell LLP, worked her way up the ranks starting as a summer associate before receiving the invitation to become a partner in January 2021.
In her role, she advises many well-known companies incorporated in Delaware, including private equity and venture capital funds, private and public LLCs, limited partnerships and statutory trusts on topics such as acquisitions and sales, reorganizations and internal restructurings.
She also collaborates with international and national attorneys on complex issues, and takes the time to present and author content of importance to other lawyers. She serves as vice chair of the Commercial Law Section in the Delaware State Bar Association, where she has presented and published on relevant matters of commercial law.
At her firm, she also co-leads a team responsible for the recruitment, retention and development of female litigators. With a passion for advancing diversity, equity and inclusion within the firm, Gelsinger has helped plan awareness events and implicit bias training while also serving on Morris Nichols’s Diversity Committee, Women’s Initiative and Pro Bono/Community Activity Committee.
Gelsinger, a graduate of Pennsylvania State University’s Dickinson School of Law, also provides pro bono work and volunteers her time and resources to Delaware organizations. like Big Brothers Big Sisters of Delaware, a local youth mentor program, and Combined Campaign for Justice, which provides support to Delaware’s legal aid organizations.
