Delaware-based digital media entrepreneur Nyemade Boiwu has her hands full as a founder and CEO of her own start-up and a community advocate raising awareness about pressing social issues, particularly those related to mental health.
Before embarking on her own digital business launched in 2019, African Butterfly Enterprises, Boiwu spent 16 years dedicating her professional career to leadership and training at the Bank of America. The knowledge acquired through those corporate experiences has helped her provide a range of services to clients today, covering everything from mental health and diversity to leadership and social media. She also works as a social media consultant for ACLU Delaware and the HOMES Campaign and has helped organizations earn recognition through many local competitions like Wilmington’s Community Votes 2024. As a producer, she has helped various brands bring their stories and visions to life in video series highlighting unique individuals, including community activists and mental health professionals.
Boiwu was also a diversity and equity fellow at the National Alliance on Mental Illness and a social media ambassador for ACLU Delaware. She has earned multiple awards for her works from the Delaware Press Association.She is an active member of LEAD for Women, serves as chair of the Civic Engagement Committee for Metropolitan Wilmington Urban League Young Professionals, is the former executive director of Every Man Counts and volunteers for multiple nonprofits, including NAMI and Big Brothers Big Sisters.
In her free time she loves to travel and keep in close contact with her family. She also uses her social media skills to keep positive mental health content at the top of the news feeds for more than 25,000 followers.
