When you hit your late 20s, it’s typical to start making major life decisions. When Jeff Spiegelman was 29, he decided to run the Delaware House of Representatives, half-joking that he would be a coward to not run while he complained about who was in charge.

In 2012, he won the election and became the youngest representative in Legislative Hall at the time and the youngest in the Republican Caucus at the time by 15 years. In the last decade of representing the 11th District, he strives to be a diplomat for ideas and people, instead of political party.

As a member of the Small Business Caucus and on the Economic Development Committee, Spiegelman gradually honed his knowledge about economic development and job creation in the First State. He has sponsored bills that created the Ready in Six programs as well as establishing Downtown Development Districts.

Outside of Legislative Hall, Spiegelman is an adjunct history and politics instructor for Wilmington University. But in 2017, he decided to make a career change and added a third job. He started working as a commercial realtor, working alongside his father in a small brokerage in Dover. Soon after, Spiegelman joined his father when he formed his own firm: the Commercial Moving Experience.

In his spare time, Spiegelman is a sportsman, forager, gardener and cook. He finds nothing as rewarding as catching the fish he cooks, plated with vegetables he grew.
