Meghan Newberry never finished her college degree. It’s something she doesn’t say out loud often, due to the stigma around not graduating. But Newberry challenged herself to rise above that stigma and built a successful career as a leadership development coach in business services giant CSC’s Digital Brand Services unit.
In her role, she partners with DBS leadership and enterprise HR teams to understand and align with talent development initiatives. She also identifies, designs,implements and evaluates business unit-specific development solutions.
Newberry started her career at CSC in 2009, leveraging her past life in customer service to many positions at the global company – including leading a team of more than 40 colleagues across the country. Her focus was growing the business segment, creating process efficiency for internal and external customers. In 2016, she was elevated to Corporate Services Trainer, where she developed and implemented training for new employees, honing her skills as the company’s leadership development coach today.
Newberry still struggles with imposter syndrome occasionally, but it doesn’t keep her from helping others overcome their own challenges. Newberry has supported more than 60 fellows through the Leadership Delaware program and was a fellow herself in 2015.
As a member of CSCGivesBack, Newberry also focuses on supporting her company’s philanthropic efforts. She’s also received the “confetti award” in the office for her love of team building and team celebration planning.
Newberry fundraises through her side gig photography business. Last year, she raised enough money to donate meals to Ronald McDonald House of Delaware twice, in partnership with Sherm’s Catering. In other charitable work, she has also served on the Make-A-Wish Delaware Advisory Council, #MillSummit planning committee and the Young Professionals committee for the Pete du Pont Freedom Foundation.
She has two sons, and spent some of her time during the COVID-19 pandemic teaching her oldest son how to ride a bike and her youngest son how to walk. She sings her sentences when excited and is often referred to as a “human exclamation point.”
