Title: Chief Talent Officer
Workplace: Dover Federal Credit Union
Age: 40
Inclusivity is at the heart of Cinnamon Elliott’s work as the chief talent officer at Dover Federal Credit Union.
Elliott, who has a passion for motivational speaking, strives to mentor future leaders by inspiring them to dream bigger than they could have imagined. Starting out in an entry-level position at the credit union taught her that to reach her goals she would have to stay committed to her vision and find innovative ways to overcome any obstacles.
To do that, she has prioritized helping those around her become successful and leading by example. She’s honing her own strengths by pursuing her certification in Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, on the heels of her Certified Credit Union Executive Designation in 2019.
When she found herself no longer working in the physical office due to the COVID-19 pandemic, she knew that flexibility would be key to meeting deadlines in a remote setting. In her role, she has focused on the development and advancement of an inclusive, empowered, values-driven workplace culture to meet the current and future needs of employees. To do that, she has implemented engagement and retention initiatives for her team members.
Elliott is also passionate about community, previously working with Helping Hands CRC, a New Jersey-based nonprofit, that helped young students in the Dover area have access to weekend college tour experience and learn about important topics such as financial literacy, interview preparation and scholarships. She has also worked with the Foreign Mission Department of the Churches of the Living God to ship clothing, shoes and school supplies to Ghana, Liberia, Trinidad and Jamaica.
