Position: Technology Director
Employer: CSC
Age: 38
Working as the technology director for Corporation Service Company (CSC) has allowed Kyle Sturgis to combine his passion for Delaware businesses with the use of technology to facilitate secure and efficient transactions.
Since joining CSC in 2016, Sturgis has been responsible for several systems that help facilitate incorporations and other critical business filings. Pega Systems, a major software provider, recognized him as an expert in their solutions and invited him to speak at their annual conference.
Previously, Sturgis worked at MBNA in Newark, which was subsequently acquired by Bank of America. During his 12 years there, he worked his way up through the ranks from an entry level associate to vice president, where he led technology organizations focused on preventing criminals from defrauding customers’ accounts, as well as systems to help customers recover from fraud.
In 2014, he co-invented a system and method for investigating fraudulent activity, which earned a patent. He and his teams also implemented more than 20 applications providing more than $30 million in annual efficiencies for the company.
Sturgis is an Eagle Scout and has volunteered with the Boy Scouts of America where he served for two years as scoutmaster of Troop 902 and helped build their website. He has also volunteered with Special Olympics, Habitat for Humanity, and Good Neighbors Home Repair.
Growing up, Sturgis frequently attended University of Delaware football games and remembers watching their marching band at games. When he attended the university himself, he was a four-year member of the more than 300-member marching band and was selected as a drum major in his senior year.
Now, Sturgis channels his passion for music into instructing various high school marching band programs, including Concord, Glasgow, McKean, and Middletown high schools as well as the Delaware Military Academy.
Sturgis, his wife Jessica, and their two children — Landon, 8, and Graham, 5 — enjoy traveling, especially to Delaware’s beaches. Sturgis also coaches his sons’ soccer, basketball, and flag
football teams.
