As president CEO of True Access Capital, Vandell Hampton Jr. leads Wilmington’s largest community development financial institution (CDFI), a nonprofit lender that utilizes both federal funds and private sector donations to reach distressed communities at favorable terms. He took the helm of what was then First State Community Loan Fund in 2004. Under his leadership, the nonprofit has provided over $20 million in financing to small businesses and community organizations throughout Delaware and southeastern Pennsylvania, undergone a comprehensive rebranding campaign to True Access and taken over the Women’s Business Center to support female entrepreneurs.
