Q&A: What’s something interesting about you that isn’t on your resume? “The one thing I enjoy the most is cooking. I do some of my best creative thinking while cooking. Cooking for me is a love language!”
Recognizing a need for a platform for developing local artists to perform their original music, Gayle Dillman founded Gable Music Ventures in 2011. Over the past decade, it has helped to revitalize Delaware’s local music scene, giving original artists a place next to popular cover bands and touring acts. Gable Music Ventures has created a handful of events over the years to promote music and the arts, but none have been as successful as the Ladybug Music Festival, which is billed as America’s largest free gathering of female artists or female-fronted bands, and has now expanded to both Wilmington and Milford. Over the past year, Dillman has been working to expand the Ladybug brand to one day host festivals in other major cities around the country.
