Title: President & CEO
Workplace: Adesis
A trained chemist, Andrew Cottone co-founded his company Adesis in 2005 and has grown it to a success in the greater Wilmington area. It both innovates chemistry solutions for pharmaceutical clients while also producing enough material to begin manufacturing of finished products. In 2016, Adesis became a wholly-owned subsidiary of the publicly traded Universal Display Corp., and works with the parent company on the development of OLED, or a thin, bendable layer of organic light-emitting diodes that are the foundation for modern TV and computer screens. Outside of Adesis, Cottone has also been recognized for his advocacy behind green hydrogen production, winning the 2023 Reinventing Delaware prize from the Pete du Pont Freedom Foundation for designing an ecosystem that could put Delaware at the forefront of the industry.
